A walk in the past......
The Daisy is a delightful cottage built in mellow stone during 1300 and is set up just out at the small medieval hamlet of Lanciole in the chestnut clad mountains above the pretty market town of Pescia (20 mins), otherwise known as “the City of Flowers”, in the heart of the Tuscan countryside, tranquil but not isolated, the whole area being totally unspoiled.
Between 1300 and 1500 the Daisy functioned as a customs post on the border divining the confines of Lucca and Florence. With the elimination of the borders the building was transformed into a hillside farmhouse raising goats, sheep and producing the sweet chestnut flour. The farmhouse was purchased by my great grandfather in the second half of the 1800's was handled down to the successive generation
